Joe & Lisa Jacobi

Well, first, I must say that I am new at interviewing and was not very sure of myself as we sat at the coffee shop in Blue Ridge just before yoga class but, within seconds I felt so comfortable with this amazing couple. They had me laughing to the point of tears while we sat and talked. Here’s a little about them and what they do.

Lisa & Joe live in Pastelle, Tennessee with their 7 year old daughter, Seu (say-u) Jane. They named their daughter after La Seu d ‘Urgell in Catalonia of Spain which loosely translated means “the gathering of people at the water”.

Joe Jacobi is a 1992 Olympic Gold Medalist in white water canoeing and competed in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.  They named their daughter, Seu, after a city where the Olympics were held. (e-mail for details)… Now Joe is a canoe/kayak broadcaster for NBC @ the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the director of Kayaking @ the Ocoee Adventure Company in Ducktown, TN. Go to  www.JoeJacobi.com to read about Joe’s philosophy on Gold Medal Living.

Here’s what Joe had to say about his experience of yoga at Heart n Soul: “I am a big believer in four sources of energy: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Yoga helps me bring these all together. On a physical level, I had trouble holding the aerodynamic position when street biking and yoga has helped me to hold that posture much longer.”
