~ Student Spotlight April 2010 ~ Lori Jenkins Invitation to 2 of Lori's upcoming events! She invites all yoga lovers to an opening reception for ORGANIC: Photography Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association from 5-7 PM. Her recent works of old roots, corn silks and flowers with new works by David Busch will be on exhibit from 4/1/10 - 4/30/10. Also, all are invited to the 10th Annual Jennie Branch Natives open gardens, April 24, 2010 from 10-5 PM. To celebrate their 10th Nursery Anniversary they added a new ORGANIC GARDEN TOUR. Three unique well-developed organic gardens are open. In addition to Lori and Wayne's terraced gardens, drive to Jean Govus's magnificent garden in the cradle of Stover Mountain; Jean is one of the founding gardeners of the Ellijay Farmers Market, then to David and Cara Busch's riverside garden for fantastic garden inspirations. |

Lori Jenkins loves studying YOGA, especially colors associated with Chakras. Lori moved to Ellijay 31 years ago to learn organic gardening after attending the Atlanta College of Art. She currently teaches art at Fannin County Middle School and after raising Jana and Obadiah she has resurrected her art making. Lori works in clay, mixed media collage, and photography, as well as tie-dye fabric work. Lori and Wayne tend a flock of hens, a large organic garden and grow rare shade perennials for Jennie Branch Natives. |
